Ideas That Change Us

Acceleration Programme for HealthTech & Wellness start-ups

For the first time in Greece, NN Hellas, in co-operation with the Embassy of the Netherlands in Athens and Orange Grove, has successfully implemented the “Ideas Τhat Change Us” programme to dynamically contribute in young entrepreneurship acceleration. The programme was designed to assist
start-ups that are active or want to enter the areas of Health, Prevention and Wellness Technology.
Through this initiative, the teams with strong, innovative ideas took part in an intensive business acceleration program, with a duration of 3 months, where they received meaningful guidance from NN Hellas’ executives, as well as the start-up development specialists from the Netherlands, IdeaHackers. During the final phase of the process, ten selected teams presented their ideas to the jury committee, consisting of three independent members, who appointed the winners.
The winners were:
• 1st place: Torafugu Tech team, with the idea of an AI-enabled solution that helps individuals with pre-existing health conditions in reducing their insurance costs by actively managing their disease, while improving their wellness
• 2nd place: Kids in the Kitchen team, with the idea of helping kids and their families to improve their lifestyle & dietary habits, by bringing nutrition education into everyday life in ways that make scientific information and guidelines accessible, applicable and fun
• 3rd place, CROWDWELL team, with the idea of unifying knowledge and reducing waste of time, effort, data to accelerate medicine by connecting all nodes of research through an open-source social platform
The main prize for all winners was a trip in Amsterdam, in order to visit the Amsterdam Centre for Entrepreneurship.
The Ambassador of the Netherlands in Greece, Caspar Veldkamp, stated: "I am very happy about the NN Hellas' cooperation with Orange Grove and at the same time very impressed by the talent that exists in Greece in the areas of Health, Prevention and Wellness Technology. We are expecting many things of these new start-ups and I have to say that we watched their progress thoroughly. I am sure we will hear good news from them when they have the opportunity to apply what they have learned in the future."
